Most buyers think they have to wait until they are ready to offer on a home before contacting a realtor. On the contrary, it is never too early to contact me. During our first consultation, I will walk you through the step-by-step process and explain:

  • Which legal protection are in place to safeguard the buyer in Oregon?

  • Which contingencies are standard and how does the sales contract protect the buyer?

  • What types of inspections are standard and how much should a buyer budget to cover the costs of these?

  • Does a buyer need to be preapproved for a loan before they can shop for a house?

  • How can a realtor strengthen an offer if there are multiple offers?

  • What is escrow? What is title?

  • How long will it take to close? When can I move in?

I will also listen to your wants and needs in a home as well as your timeline and then backwards map the steps that we will need to take as a team to get you to that final goal by your preferred date. Above all, my intent is that you leave the consult feeling educated and that you have an advocate on your side helping you every step of the way.

Inspection

“Kelley recommended several certified home inspectors and then scheduled and coordinated with the one we chose. On the day of inspection we were nervous, but Kelley helped put the inspector’s findings in to context so that we would know what we should be concerned by and what was pretty standard in an old house. She then immediately started contacting reputable contractors to quote the repairs needed and tried to spare us as much expense in the process as possible.”

Negotiation

“After finding a house that seemed just perfect for my life, I realized plenty of other people thought the same. I was wary of getting into a bidding war but Kelley advised on what it would take to win the bid, if it was truly what I wanted. We got it! And, the negotiations didn’t stop there. After learning during the inspection that the roof would need a little love, Kelley was able to secure $5,000 in closing costs to pay for the repairs ”

— L.K.

Financing

“Kelley was in constant contact with our lender and their strong communication was crucial in several situations where time was of the essence. We never had to worry that our financing would fall through at the last minute or that our offer would not be taken seriously due to a flimsy pre-approval letter”
